The mayoral election will be held tomorrow.
My friend is running for mayor.
He was a classmate when we were in high school.
He is in the running since he resigned the presidency of an IT company.
I wish him to win the election somehow.
But there are three names on the ballot.
The incumbent mayor is a particularly strong rival candidate.
He has been elected twice in a row and is recommended by Democratic Party of Japan, which is in power.
On the other hand, my friend is supported by a small opposition party "Your Party" which only has five Diet members.
I am praying to God to give him a miracle.

I talked about my friend running for Mayor in a previous entry.
The election was held on Oct. 26.
It was cold and cloudy, so I supposed that there would be a low voter turnout.
In such a condition, the incumbent has an advantage.
I was very anxious that the fight ended at a blow in a knockout and my friend would be unable to get back on his feet.
The ballot counting began.
The turnout rate was only 31.5% !
However the two candidates were still neck and neck when 88% of the votes had been counted.
Finally, the incumbent mayor won the election with 164,030 votes.
He has been elected three times in a row.
I felt very sorry that my friend was defeated even though he had received 156,178 votes.
But the difference was no more than 8000.
He gave the incumbent a run for his money.
I am sure that he will run for the Upper House next year and maybe win the race.
Man is not made for defeat.
Run for Diet member !
"Nice try" , "Good job," were what my acquaintances praised my friend the next day.
I am very proud of my friend. He is very ambitious.
